The Free Flow Sky Duplex
Residential
Remodelling a duplex at Kolhapur.
Perched atop the fifth floor amidst lush coconut groves, The Living Void reimagines a conventional duplex into a minimalist, free-flowing guest house defined by openness, light, and spatial continuity. Conceived during construction, the design transforms the original layout into an uncluttered living environment where double-height volumes, skylights, and seamless visual connections dissolve conventional boundaries.
The home unfolds through a carefully choreographed sequence of compressed and expansive spaces—from a low entrance lobby opening dramatically into a double-height living room framed by panoramic glazing. Free-standing columns, sculptural staircases, and subtle level variations define spaces without enclosure, allowing movement and interaction to flow effortlessly.
A restrained material palette of white surfaces, warm wood flooring, minimalist furniture, and filtered natural light creates a calm and timeless atmosphere. Organic curved forms of the bathrooms contrast with the clean geometry of the interiors, adding softness and surprise to a home designed as an experience of lightness, openness, and quiet luxury.
